Action for Children works with more children and young people, including
those affected by poverty, disability and abuse, than any other charity.
Action for Children helps children achieve their full potential.
Through their services they support some of the most vulnerable and excluded
children in the UK.
Their work falls into nine broad categories, listed below:
Adoption
Action for Children runs six adoption projects that find homes and families for children who,
for whatever reason, cannot grow up with their birth family.
Disability
Action for Children is the largest UK provider of children's disability services, running
over 55 projects supporting disabled children and their families.
Early years and family support
Action for Children runs 240 projects for young children and their families, and they are
the largest UK provider of this type of service.
Education
Education forms part of many areas of Action for Children's work, but
Action for Children also runs six
projects dedicated specifically to learning.
Family placement
Action for Children runs 11 projects that place children and young people with families
who can provide long or short-term care.
Health and well-being
Action for Children runs 27 projects supporting children and families affected by physical
or mental health difficulties.
Participation and children's rights
Action for Children runs 37 projects that give children and families the opportunity
to have their say and to find their own ways of overcoming difficulties.
Residential services
Action for Children runs 24 projects providing a range of residential services for
children and young people.
Youth services
Action for Children runs 113 projects supporting older children and young people.
Action for Children has a network of offices around the UK, and is the UK's
largest children's charity.
